What is XTrace ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
XTrace is a tracer to convert bitmap pictures (like IFF ILBM files) to
vector pictures (like EPS or IFF DR2D files).
XTrace offers operators to process bitmap and vector pictures like
color converting, border process, digital filtering, removing of unused
colors, rotating, noise supressing and many more.
XTrace also supports bezier curves, XPK, clipboards etc.
Requirements
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
XTrace requires at least AmigaDOS 3.0 and to work efficient at least
5 Mb RAM and a fast processor, but it should run with 2 Mb RAM and
a MC68000.
XTrace requires approximately 650 Kb of hard disk space for full
installation.
Documentation
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry about that, but the XTrace documentation is (at this time) only in
german. If YOU want to translate the documentation (and other XTrace related
text files) into your native language (english or french), CONTACT ME
FIRST.
If you are the first one and you will get the commitment to translate
changes of the documentation for future XTrace versions, you can get a
free registration (after sending me the translated documentation) for
translating.
Don't worry, I think XTrace is intuitive enough to understand by people
who knows something about DTP. Try it !
Installation
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation is easy, just click on the installation icon and XTrace
will be installed. The installation is safe, there's no risk of overwriting
any files and you can later uninstall easily by deleting the XTrace-Drawer.
This will completely remove XTrace from your system. If you abort the
installation, files that were installed will be deleted.
All files except some libraries are installed to a single directory.
I suggest you install XTrace in expert user mode.
You really want to use the Installer script and not to try install
XTrace manually. If you don't have the standard Amiga Installer-
utility, you can download it from any Aminet site, the file is:
util/misc/Installer-1.25.lzh.
Distribution
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This version of XTrace is unregistered, every picture will be marked
with "DEMO". So register please ....
For further information read the guide.
History
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes since last (1.00) version :
- restrictions for unregistered users changed
- some bugs removed
- settings changed (read note below) and splitted into 2 different
files (main settings and temp settings)
- world map included
- slope improved
For older changes plase read the guide.
Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have used the last version (1.00), the old settings file will not
longer used, because of changes of the whole settings because of an error
in the settings and a new settings structure. If you update XTrace with
the install script, the file will be automatically deleted.
